manifestation in 5 steps

Manifestation in 5 Steps | How to Manifest What You Want With Your Horse

Manifestation. I used to do it in the 'wrong' direction.

I used to ask myself when my horse Maestro and I struggled:

“Where do I even start?”

And the answer I told myself was usually…

“I don’t know.”

Which, of course, didn’t get me anywhere. It just kept me stuck.

But then I asked a different question:

“Where do I want to end?”

And that changed everything.

Because when you know your destination, you can reverse-engineer the journey. You look at who’s already where you want to be. You study what they did STep by STep. And you trace those STeps backward until you find the first one.

Then suddenly, you do know where to start.

Straightness Training

Once you know your destination, and the steps, the next question is:

"How to get the job done?"

The answer is: manifestation. In the right direction, of course.

And in this article, I'll tell you exactly what that means and how to do it.

Manifestation methods

Maybe you've heard of:

  • Visualization
  • Affirmation
  • The Secret
  • The Law of Attraction.

These are all manifestation methods.

But the interesting thing is that the real ability to manifest has its roots in neuroscience.

You can't just think and then wait for things to happen.

You also have to do something.

You have the power within you to create change, and there are 5 simple, science-based steps that show you how.

Manifestation in 5 steps

The late Dr. James Doty, a neurosurgeon and professor at Stanford University,  described a simple but powerful 5-step process to turn your vision into reality:

Manifesting

Step 1. Write down your end goal

Define your end goal and then write it down with a pen or pencil. This small, physical, tactile action is signaling to your brain that this goal matters.

Step 2. Read silently

When you read your goal, you remind yourself what is important to you. It helps you stay focused on what you want to achieve.

Step 3. Read out loud

Speaking adds emotion and commitment, so it feels more real. Hearing your own voice helps you believe it even more. Your own voice tells your brain "This matters." and is proof to your brain that you mean it.

Step 4. Visualize it

This step enages all senses. You can see, hear, feel, even smell or taste the result as if it's already real. The more clearly you can imagine it, the more your brain believes it.

Step 5. Repeat daily

Change and transformation happen through repetition. Each time you repeat the five steps, you train your brain to make your vision real. As a result, your brain strengthens the neural pathway that connects your vision to real action.

And we're all already pretty good at this 5-step process...

We're manifesting all the time

When you use all your senses to picture something, and do it again and again, your brain starts wiring itself toward it.

And it works!

How do we know?

Because we’re all familiar with negative self talk, or the inner critic inside our heads.

That's manifestation too, just in the wrong direction.

We're manifesting all the time, and we often don't realize it.

Henry Ford

Manifestation in the wrong direction

We often believe the little voice inside our head that says things like:

  • “I'm not good enough in training horses."
  • "I don't know how to do Straightness Training."
  • "I can't handle my horse."
  • "Nothing works out for me."
  • "I'm never going to make it."
  • "I'll never be able to do it with this horse."
  • "My horse is not meant to be successful."
  • "I'm not worthy of having success."
  • Things like that don't happen to a rider like me."

This kind of negative self talk comes from the baggage that we carry from our childhood. Somewhere, someone said something that made us feel “not enough” or "unworthy" and those moments stuck with us, we internalized them, and kept repeating those stories to ourselves.

Over time, these thougths turned into limiting beliefs that nowadays create fear or shame or doubt.

And those emotions often lead to inaction and missed opportunities.

So first we have to understand what we've already been manifesting, which is the negative.

We've been manifesting it because we've repeated sentences in our subconscious over and over, and interacted with those thoughts since our childhood.

Again, it proves that manifestation works.

But not always in the way we want.

Dr. Doty about this:

"People create a prison for themselves by this negative self talk. Every time they make a negative statement, it's as if they're laying down a brick to build a prison. And the walls get higher and it gets darker. Yet, all of us have the key in our pocket, to let ourselves out of the prison that we created. It's not "woo, woo". It's not looking to the universe to save you. The first sense of my book says "The universe doesn't give a fuck about you" but at the end of the book, my statement is, "You are the universe and that is your gift".

brain in prison

With the 5 steps, we have the keys to unlock the door of our prison and turn the default manifestation (the one we create through negative self talk) into something that is much more constructive and positive.

Manifestation in the right direction

Remember Walt Disney who once said "It all started with a mouse".

So if you have a goal, vision or intention:

  1. You take a pencil, you write it down.
  2. Then you read it silently.
  3. Then you read it aloud.
  4. Then you visualize that.
  5. Then you repeat the process everyday.

So when you do these 5 steps over and over and over again you encode it in your mind.

Using all your senses creates the process where your intention and vision get embedded into your subconscious.

This consciously choosing your thoughts and rehearsing them activates different parts of your brain.

The science behind manifestation

Manifestation isn’t magic.

It isn't "woo-woo".

It’s neuroplasticity in action.

Neuroplasticity is your brain’s lifelong ability to change and rewire itself. When you focus and repeat something, you're brain builds new neural pathways that make change possible.

three brain networks

So when you set a goal, write it down, read it silently and out loud, and then visualize it repeatedly, you activate and synchronize three major brain networks:

1. Default Mode Network  — The Story Teller

This is the network where you create the narrative of who you are or what you want.

The reason we struggle to believe we can reach our goals is because we keep telling ourselves the same limiting stories over and over again. When this network gets activated it in the wrong direction, it can result in rumination.

But you can also create a narrative in the right direction:

  • "One day, I'll be able to do [fill in your goal, like the piaffe, passage, levade]"
  • "All it takes is one STep at a time"
  • "I don't have to get it perfect, I just have to get it going"
  • "It's working!"
  • "Me and my horse learn by doing"
  • "This is a perfect opportunity to learn, grow and develop"
  • "This is the perfect horse to get better and master myself".

Once you create the narrative of who you want to be or how you see yourself this gets embedded, and you're creating salience, which means, making it important.

2. Salience Network — The Prioritizer

This network is the part of your brain that identifies what’s important.

Once something is salient it grabs your attention.

So by taking the 5 manifestation steps, your goal becomes something your brain recognizes as important.

It gets embedded into your subconscious as a priority and something to focus on.

Once that happens, once that your goal is defined as "Important STuff', than your brain starts scanning your environment, seeing all the opportunities and possibilities in your environment.

The moment it identifies one, your executive control network is activated.

3. Executive Control Network — The Action Taker

This network is the part of your brain that turns intention into action. It helps you plan, make decisions that are aligned with your goal, and follow through.

When all three networks work together, your brain literally begins to expect success.

As a result, it guides your thoughts, emotions and actions toward it.

There is no magic here.

This is neuroscience.

And it's something that we all have to power to activate, simply by practicing the 5 manifestation steps.

Daily Practice

Manifestation is just mental training where you remind your brain of your goal.

It's like a daily reset, where you decide what's important and what you want to believe.

Try it for the next 30 days, it only takes a few minutes.

Just take a notebook and a pencil and:

Write your goal, read it silently, read it aloud, visualize it, and repeat.

Along the way, you'll feel your thoughts, emotions and actions start to align.

That's neuroscience.

That's manifestation.

I'll do it with you this month.

Right now something BIG is coming for you in November, so I'm taking these exact 5 steps to make that happen!

Something BIG is coming

It’s probably exactly
what you've been waiting for

We can’t say much yet, or tell you what it is.

It’s happening this fall, so this isn’t open yet....

But when it does,
you’ll want to be first to know.
